Makeup Workshops at the Dallas Studio

We have some new workshops at the studio this year that I am very excited about. There is a great variety for the working makeup artist, the consumer, and makeup lover. It is a new year and time to grow and expand! 2016 is predicted to be a year of change and growth.

First for the aspiring or working professional, I have created a Bridal Workshop that focuses on the business aspects of working on weddings with the creative piece that is needed to make any bride happy! This is a 2-day workshop and we spend one day on the business side, and one working on models creating elegant, polished makeup looks. I’m offering 2 this winter/spring.

I have also created a portfolio building workshop for professional artists. This is also a 2-day class designed to create and produce beautiful images for a makeup artist’s book. The first day we work on designing, storyboards, and determining what each artist needs. The second day is a photoshoot. I’m so happy to be partnering with photographer Jeremy Shelby for the first of these great workshops. The models will be hand chosen from professional agencies as well.

I am a strong believer that a portfolio must present professional images of professional people. Pictures of someone in their car doing a “selfie” are not for a pro book. (Also, no pictures of you! Unless they are a pro headshot.) You have to present yourself to clients as a working, professional, talented, experienced artist. This is essential. Even if you only work with brides, you need a variety of creative shots to elevate yourself as an artist. Please visit Makeup Training Academy for details on both of these.

For the consumer we have workshops on wearing the pale rose/pink tones that are popular this year and will pump up the color for spring. I have started creating pressed face (blush) colors and also created a new cream blush trio. I’m contemplating doing my own lining pencils and a new lipstick formula! There is always something exciting going on at the studio.

Also, I have brought in several lines that I enjoy working with that are hard to find. Senna, Armour Beauty Glosses, and Z Palettes.

Come by for a coffee and let’s talk about makeup!

Until next time, Terri Tomlinson
